I've been shopping around for a new set of AH-D7000s, and found one place that was selling them for $550. The site looked a bit rickety, so I called them to ask if they were an authorized reseller of Denon products. He of course said yes, but before I could ask how I would know that for sure, he hung up. That experience alone completely deterred me from buying through them, but it brought up a very important question: how do we know for sure which of these online retailers are fully authorized?

Go to the Denon website, on the home page in the lower right corner is a dealer lookup by zip. He sounds a little shaky to me.

Most manufactures have websites such as that, that lists the authorized dealer.
You might have to look up their location sometimes in order to find them on the list.

Some of them have a long list of internet dealers, so all you need to do is ctrl+F

Thanks guys, this is good to know. Here is the site I was referring to:

The guy obviously lied through his teeth. They are not listed as an authorized dealer, and the site looks pretty shady. I will definitely not purchase from them and advise others to stay away.

I couldn't find an address anywhere.
