When I use a 12AX7 or 12AU7 tube in my AuneT1, it sounds terrible. I usually have the volume right at 12 o'clock with any other tube (6DJ8 or 6922EH). Now with the 12's I have to turn it up all the way and I can just start to hear it and it's sort of muffled. This 1st happened with a 12AU7 and I sent it back for a 12AX7 and the same results. What am I missing here.

here is list of all compatible tubes that should work with Aune T1 ,please refer to this list next time you purchase your tube

EDIT; you will need socket adapter....9pin 12AU7 style

It's an octal tube like 6SN7. You won't be able to plug it in without an adapter.
 
Edit: And I'm not saying that you should plug it in. I'm not familiar with this amplifier.

Even with the dip switches on the bottom of the Aune T1 set to full gain you still have to crank it that high with the 12's?? wow
