Aune S17 pro

For now just tried with Hifiman Arya Stealth trough it's single ended cable. When I can I'll try with balanced cable and also with Sennheiser HD800s and Focal Radiance.
With HE1000SE, LCD XC and Clear MG no problem either in single ended or balanced. After three hours max 68 C on Clear MG. With SE and XC max 65 C. 23 Celsius inside the room near a wall, with 4 aluminium feet underneath on a raised perforated aluminum grille. When I turn on the S17 Pro it starts from 16 C. When I turn off, suddenly decrease in 3 minutes about 10-15 degrees

I'm just waiting for the delivery of a laptop stand that is the way you describe yours. Anything else, the same. The room is a bit warmer, but I guess that the difference is not that big. DAC is Chord Mojo 2 so it's connected trough RCA input. Been playing a bit with the Mojo volume, but usually near the volume I listen to with the Arya connected directly to the Mojo headphone out (I think around 1 to 1.5 Volt).

Mine is connected in xlr (fixed) with the dac 5v output, so fully balanced. High gain or low gain, volume level, it's the same concerning the temp

Currently travelling and without access to the amp for a couple of weeks, but when I come back I will try with 4.3 Volt and with other DAC. Think I will try also with other power cable.

Guys, I’m sorry but here we’re making doubt of math and science: we’re not talking of ppl living in countries or have house temperatures 20º C hotter or colder. The difference could be 2-3, maybe 4º C, but this can’t justify ppl stating their units won’t exceed 55º and ppl who can use this amp in class A for no more than 30 mins. Clearly there are some faulty units or QC is a big deal here. I think I’m gonna order mine when I come back home from holiday. i’m in Italy and I hope they will have a good batch of units. But if heating will be an issue for me now that we’re in winter, I don’t think I could keep it: I’m a mixing engineer and I love working with headphones, which means my amp is on 10 hrs a day. In this case I will pull the trigger on the audio gd master 19 which heats as any other clsss A amp, but doesn’t degradate its sound quality to avoid melting. :k701smile:
Agree. This was what I meant earlier today when I said that it seemed odd that people were having such different experiences with the S17 and heat. Until I was put in my place by a poster.

Wait... you said that it reads 16c when you turn it on on room temp of 23c? Okay.... something isn't right.

Why? 🤣 Obviously it's not an external thermometer. It is an estimated internal temperature detector. In my case, if the room temperature is 22-23 degrees, as soon as it is turned on it detects 16 degrees inside the device. It is not said that the internal temperature of the device detects the external temperature of the room when turned on, or is similar. Simply, at the moment of switching on, the internal temperature of the case is 16 degrees although externally it is 22-23. It's not very strange.

There is a 12 C difference there between our units. Right when we turn it on!

That makes no sense at all. The device should display more or less room temperature when switched on after a few hours when switched off - that's how it is for me.
I suspect that the thermal sensor in your appliance is not working properly.

Maybe I don't speak correctly...I mean that when I switch on, the temp starts from 16 C even if the external temp is 22-23C, but soon after it increase!

Your first remark makes sense, the rest not so much.
Apart from refrigerators all devices in your room will default to the room temperature over time. So when you first power up your S17 it should have a (room) temperature of (in your case) 22-23 degrees. (Unless you just took it out of a much colder environment)
Also I am not convinced of your statement concerning the internal temperature detector … if anything is ‘estimated’ I think it is your remark ;-)
Manufacturers in general don’t base temperature protection circuits on ‘guesswork”.

Maybe, in that part of the room is more cold but the home thermostat show me 22 degrees. Impossible that I have 16 degrees in that room! However more Aune S17 Pro do the same 😏
