Aune S17 pro

I asked this in the Schiit MJ3 thread but has anyone here compared the MJ3 with the Aune S17 Pro. Would the S17 Pro pair well the R2R DACs like the Ares II?
Passion for Sound and Wavetheory have compared the S17 to the MJ3 in their respective reviews. In general, yes the MJ3 is better overall compared to the S17, but the S17 is not that far behind, is not like the MJ3 is running circles around it in regards to SQ and technicalities.

Okay, @AuneAudio support is honestly amazing! They reached out to me here regarding my issue with the display and sent me a new display board. I replaced it myself (a simple process), and the device works flawlessly again! That's the level of customer support, my deepest appreciation, and respect!

I've always been a big fan of audio quality-first brands such as Aune (and QLS / Quloos guys for example). No extraordinary features and everything is focused on sound quality.

So I thought I'd give this bad boy a try :

It's been a while since I did a comprehensive review of audio gear but I feel like this one will deserve it.
And kudos to @AuneAudio for delivering such products !

Cheers !

Any info regarding dedicated dac for this amp?
You're right, currently, our S series product line is missing a pure DAC. In fact, it's under development right now, and to be precise, not just one, but multiple models are being developed, each belonging to different series. As for the R2R DAC, we did consider it before designing the next generation of DACs. In fact, we completed the development of the R2R DAC a year ago, and initially planned to use it in a portable device. However, due to the size increase caused by its use, we decided not to go forward with it. Of course, there is no issue using it in a desktop system, but according to our current product development plan, its priority is not very high, so we may need to wait a while longer.

Good evening! Please respond who had experience comparing the S17 Pro and Pro EVO versions. I came awaited with a review from a person who has both versions that EVO sounds easier than the original s17. The person describes that the 100 mA mode on EVO has become better than 50 mA on the old version, but the 200 mA mode began to sound simplified than the old 100 mA. Does anyone have similar feelings?
