No I wouldn't say it seems fragile. I agree with @nmatheis that it's acceptable. Once again, with the silicone case in place I don't even think about it.

I found this review online...it seems to be translated but I like what the reviewer has to say about the M1s. He (or she) seems to think the buttons feel good with a nice click when depressed.

That is true and I place much more weight on the information I got from you and others on HeadFi than I did on that one review in deciding to go for the M1s.

I have a song, that I use often in a playlist, which is meant to be completely silent. Basically an empty track.
I've found that the M1S has been skipping this song automatically.
Has anyone encountered this and managed to fix it? Or is it just a side effect of the player's design?

Send an email to all the usual suspects, Penon, Shenzhen Audio, Lendmeurears etc... And see what they can do for you.
They will do something good.

I actually did email Aune and they gave me this offer for $249 USD including shipping the M1s, VE Espresso earbud + 3 silicone cases for M1s + 2 screen protectors. The shipping is express too so I might take that offer.
