Auditioned Sennheiser HD-26 PRO

Maybe they are more like the Amperior rather than the HD25 II. But it would be hard to place the product around the £270 mark (Amperior, Momentum). I think it would be much cheaper than the Euro 285 price quoted on the German website. If they are anything like the Amperior it would be an awesome headphone, but I hope the price is around £150.

HD-25 is one of the best sounding headphones on the market and for well under $400. I'm glad Sennheiser didn't change that in the HD-26 pro.

I'm glad we both love it, but it isn't perfect either. Sennheiser outdid themselves a pinch with the Amperior, if with the drawback of too much sensitivity. Improved treble clarity, tamed treble peaks, improved microdynamics in the mids, and more low bass extension wouldn't hurt. Amperior pulled off the same sound but cleaner with better bass response and extension and slightly better imaging, even eliminated the crappy bass reverb that we learn to get used to with dampening material in the cups.

Sounds the same as the decades-old HD25?
So are you saying the new HD25 Aluminium sounds better than the HD26?

If HD25 Alu is built similarly to the Amperior and HD26 does indeed sport the same exact sound of HD25-1, then most likely.
