Hi, I want to upgrade from my old sound blaster card from 8 - 10years ago.
Would like to be able to use it on my PC and my blu-ray player when I watch on my small tv. I assume I can plug my optical out from the player..And keep usb plugged into the pc for powering it??
 
 
Also, How do people handle Mic duties when using a dac? Use onboard sound for just the mic? or??
 
My budget is pretty much stretched at the D1....So that level or less.

Sounds like the D1 is probably a pretty good solution for you.

As for the mic, you'll have to go in via the computer soundcard, or alternatively buy a usb mic.

Well, I ordered one.. It had good reviews and should do everything I want cept mic...I will run that off the onboard sound solution on the pc.

Man, this thing sounds great. Simple plug n play. Waay louder than the pc sound card. I am surprised on how the lil thing actually has weight to it..I figured it would be some lil light weight thing. Initial reaction is happy with it.I will post after I had it a lil while after gaming, watching movies and so on.
