I'm pressed for time today between studying and work tonight. I'll try to open up my unit carefully tomorrow and I'll get you the specifications. My hunch is that those are some premium Black Gates capacitors, but I can't tell you more until I open it up tomorrow. I'll snap some "macro photos" (whatever) for you tomorrow.

Awesome!

Thanks.

Thx Welly Wu, way too much of a pain for me to get my unit out of it's parking slot and back in again. Ed, you are taken care of, right?

He posted pics of the LClock X03.

You have the Superclock 3, right?

One thing I really don't like about Audiocom is that they don't publish any hard numbers or specs.

And considering the cost of these cost upgrades, I'll bet I the number of people who have actually tested different clocks side by side on identical players/DAC's can be counted on one hand.

Oh, yeah, that's right. I have the superclock3...that's the clock you want. Edwood, I'm sorry, but it's a royal pain for me to get the cd player in and out of our wall unit. What if I emailed you my pix? You could then perhaps use your photo viewing software to close-up on the pix? Lemme know if you want to go that route, and I will email you my pix. Send me a PM if so.

Edwood:

My Canon PowerShot 3.2 MP digital camera can't do macro photographs well. So, I decided to get you the information the old fashioned way by writing it down on a piece of paper. First, you should consult with Mr. Dan Wright of ModWright, LLC with regard to how he mounted the LC Audio SuperClock x03 with Clock Power Supply. The SuperClock x03 uses a Black Gates 25v, 4700 uF capacitor operating at 24.576 MHz. The Clock Power Supply uses a pair of Black Gates capacitors with 2200 uF each. That's as much information as I could get to you.

Anyway, here are some close up photographs:

Are you sure the 4700uF 25V is a Blackgate?

I checked around and the closest FK series I could find was 4700uF 35V, and not only is it more than half the cost of the LClock X03 itself, it's waaaay to big to fit on that board.

Maybe the one on there is a Standard Blackgate?

Edwood:

I am sure of it. If you have any further technical questions, then I would suggest that you contact Mr. Dan Wright of ModWright, LLC at http://www.modwright.com . He should be able to answer your questions with regard to how he has chosen to install the LC Audio SuperClock x03 with Clock Power Supply. Please note that I received a package deal price for extensive modifications to my Pioneer Elite DV-59AVi and he said that my package offered the highest value in the sense of a performance : price ratio.

Edwood, call or email Brice at SO about comparisons between the superclock 3 which he put in for the modded cd-25 he did for me and trichord research 4. It was my decision and impetus to go for the SC3 over the TC4, and I paid a premium for it, but Brice can offer some insights as we was able to make some direct comparisons.

I like the Superclock3 over the other clocks, but I also modify it. If you install one of these, you need to pay attention to power wiring and output transmission-line effects. At 24 MHz, if you keep the cables short, it will probably work. It will make an improvement to the Bel Canto.
