Are the pads thicker than the m50s? They look fat and comfy.

Did sound signature good for rock/metal genre music ?
About the same, quite comfortable.
Not sure about that, I don't listen to rock and metal. IMHO transient, speed, and attack, are good. Though not as fast as HD800 or T1, but definitely not in the category of slow headphones. Transient, speed, and attack are probably about the same as M50.
What I notice so far, MSR7 is quite picky with amplifier matching. For example, I don't really like it when paired with ifi Micro iDSD, but I like it a lot when paired with Centrance DACport. Not about which DAC + Amp is better, both are excellent DAC + Amp, but both have a very different sound signature. And it is happen that DACport matches MSR7 much better than Micro iDSD.
Aren't the HD800 and T1 open headphones?
Yes, but speed and transient have nothing to do with open or closed design. For Imaging, yes, open and closed are different.
lalala, mind adding this to the OP?

Roger that
Thanks pal!
I'm also awaiting the release of the fx1100 you posted in the discovery thread. I sure hope it's worth the $500!
Either way, these are fun times in the audio world. Just need some rockets, havi b6, and a sony z7/Pandora Hope VI to complete the year.
