Funny that you mentioned the HD800S's. I'm listening to them now and their bass response or bass behavior puts me in mindset of the way the AWKT's bass behaves. If there is deep bass in the track the HD800S's have no problem representing it. It's just not "on" all the time. The AWKT's are similar in performance. There is no denying that Audio-Technica loves their upper mids and treble presence. It's that very reason that makes me wish there was a little more bass presence no doubt.
I'm waiting for the return of your FA 10 to see your impressions of HD 800 bass (and in general) on them :relaxed:

It's getting close. My modder sent over a pic of the internals and I can't wait to hear how its sounds. Not only with the HD800S's but with the AWKT's as well. The FA-10 is one of the few solid state amps that adds some body to AWKT's.

I hope the mods don't alter a lot the sound. Maybe you can find out the differences between the original FA 10 and the modded version (even, you changed the fuse).

Sorry for the off topic

It won’t affect the foundation of the FA-10’s sound. All I’m looking to add is some soundstage depth and width. That’s the only thing the FA-10 is missing. The fuse upgrade just improved transient speed and added a bit more attack, sharpness to the notes. The bass, weight notes, dynamics and clarity should be unaffected by the mod but should see an improvement as well. The AWKT’s should benefit even more from these improvements as well as my other headphones.

@Nostoi i apologise for feeding you wrong info about the bha100. It needs burn in and after burn in of the tubes it give a mild V colouraion that is very pleasing on all 4 AT closed backs. It makes things like cymbals chimes and the like wonderfully present.

According to the audio specialist at the AT treehouse it needs around 3 weeks of burn in.

Oh, ok - this is a nice update! I have one on order from Jaben and really look forward to giving it a go.

What was the source you used for the BHA100 out of interest?
