I plan on buying a new set of headphones in the $100-$125 usd price range. Currently I am looking at the Audio technica ATH-AD700 and the Allesandro M1 (with the most comfortable pads/bowls dont know which ones those would be so i need clarification). I am open for any suggestions.
maters of importance:
Sound quality: the up's and down's
Sound stage: I am not exactly sure as to what this means, onyl a vague understanding so i will probably have to research that a bit
Comfort: how long can you wear these for without your ears getting weary
Sound leakage: I am not concerned with what can get into the headphone, but with what can get out. If I am for instance on a plane, I don't want to piss off the guy sitting next to me. If it is a problem i may have to get a pair of closed backs
durability: dont want something that is going to crumble in a year from normal usage
amplification: does it need need an amp to drive properly in an ipod touch 2g, and even if it does not need one what kind of gains can i get from a cheap -- made in china for next to nothing -- peace of crap portable headpone amp ($9.99-$19.99 usd).
portability is NOT a problem.
Again, I am open for alterior suggestions. please tell me which headphones your think would be suit me best and why (only looking for circumaural / supra aural)
As a bit of a sidenote. for a reference point i currently have a pair of shure SE210k's and the reason I dont want another pair of IEC's is because they are a pain to get in and out and I think I can get more comfort and better sound quality from a bigger pair of headphones
