I return my M7 to audio-gd agent and he update my M7 to 2016 version
first impressions include: less bloating bass and more realistic low range, vocal came forward comparing to previous , no defining change i can find in high range
strongly recommend to update your M7 firmware

May I know where the agent is located?

Thanks, but does it mean there are no US agents who can provide technical support?  I need  some help in installing my Amanero USB module and I wish I had the soldering/technical skills to do the work myself, without having to ship my Reference 5.32 overseas, especially since it does not appear to be much of a difficult job, if you know what you're doing . Oh well

According to Kingwa, installation of the Amanero board in the Reference 10.32 should be much easier after the DSP update (no soldering needed anymore). Might be a good idea to ask him if this also applies to the 5.32

Well installing the board without any soldering would be swell.  I shall indeed ask him. Thanks for letting me know,

Let us know what he say about the Amanero upgrade after softwareupgrade.

I'm interested in it too. Please share, if possible. Thanks.

Well guys, Kingwa just responded to my inquiry with a short sentence which might itself require some more interpretation.  He simply said:

"After update, the Amanero just replace USB32 direct."

He did not address my question about the soldering or lack thereof...  If anyone can understand whether the idea of Amanero replacing USB32 directly means there would be no soldering required, please chime in.

Thanks.

Yeah, Kingwa's replies are sort of riddles

, maybe he's waiting until you perform the DSP update before providing further info. Another option is to contact one of their agents and ask if they have performed that upgrade lately (I'd suggest Magna Hifi). BTW, we might be derailing the M7 thread now, perhaps discussion should continue in the respective REF10.X or REF5.X threads.

Sahmen, I answered you on the other thread.

In short, you definitely need to solder. Follow this instructions:

@sahmen - What Kingwa means if you do the DSP V7 update first, the Amanero upgrade is just swapping out the USB modules.

I've did the Amanero upgrade on DSP V5 and soldering the "DSP reset" circuit was required.  With the DSP V7 software, Kingwa must have addressed the functionality needed in the new firmware and so this previous wiring was disabled by removing the ground wire.

@dcivera - The mods that pete_mac had to do were correcting a wiring error on the module plug (ie not normal) + the now not needed USB mod.

Kingwa's instructions take some consideration at time but they do make sense.  I can't help but continue to be impressed by him - he creates amazing products, provides excellent support and does so in 2 languages!

If anyone want to replace the USB32 by the Amanero, can take the photo show your unit 's USB connect , and inform the model, we can custom order the Amanero had the compatible wires , users may can easy replace in the unit without soldering.
If you had bought the Amanero module, you can take the photo show the Amanero module and the unit's USB connect together, we  can draw in the photo show how to connect them.

If you have any advice on the firmware update, please inform, we will update the DSP firmware every the half year if we had idea.

Kingwa, thanks for addressing this issue. I'm a bit confused, I had to solder both wires when the Amanero board arrived, just as pete_mac did. Now I have NOS V2 firmware, are you saying I do not need this wires soldered anymore?

Thanks
