Have you considered the Pi2AES-Lite? Runs the same Pi2AES s/w. The specs are the same except for voltage input. Or does the +24V model just sound better?

Is there any hifi gear that supports AES3id? That seems like an odd choice of interface.

For best sound experience with the old M7 upgrade the I2S adapter to HDMI hardware. Kingwa sells them pretty cheap at around $35us.
it can be powered by 5v from pins in stock form and from default power input after a minor change
Kingwa's I2S HDMI receiver is not the best option imho and it's not looks cheap at 35$ sorry

Since the P2-Aes is out of production, does anyone have a good reccomendation for a DIY or already built solution to run I2S into the Master 7 Singularity?

I'm wifi streaming with a Raspberry Pi 4 now and currently run USB to Audiophilleo 2 with PP to Spdif in to MS7s, but really want to try an I2S into the DAC to see how much more I can get out of the DAC.

I used Audiophilleo 2 mk II with Master7 a few years ago, Pi2AES is completely another level. As options there are Allo Kali hat or Ian Canada's FifoPiMa
And am I understanding this correctly that I would USB to a unit that would then send I2S out to the MS7?

The Ian Canada looks like I could do that, but not the Allo Kali hat?

not exactly. usb is not needed. raspberry takes digital music from its storage or over the network then allo kali or ian canada hat will take digital signal from raspberry gpio, make it proper and translate to dac directly on i2s input, or by hdmi/aes/spdif transmitter - in this case you will need to add suitable transmitter. Pi2aes has built-in transmitters but these hats don't

How do I connect either of these units to my Raspberry Pi streamer?

My M7s has an HDMI input already, so I should be good to go there.
