The problem happened with both windows PC and my EVERSOLO DMP-A6 as a source (via USB)

Exactly what @Oepsie wrote... This is what happens... I had to limit the sampling rate to 44.1 KHZ on the Eversolo...

I asked these guys with Eversolo. And here is another streamer which don't generate noise when changing sample rate, right?

Ive seen throughout the thread that 3.933 and 4.076 are good firmware for the di-20. Out of these two which is better for master clocks?

Both have the same master clock implementation. 3.933 is the organic version, 4.076 is smooth and accurate. I have a popping sound every 3min with 3.933 on the coax input. 4.076 has no glitch.

It is the old DI. Before 2014. Came with a separate psu.

I am awaiting with excitement as I will do a comparison against Pink Faun I2S Bridge and Matrix SPDIF 3. Only the I2S. Saving my money to get my hands on the new DI20HE in new chassis matching my R-1 NOS, if it does come out!

Right now Pink Faun I2S and the Pink Fuan I2S is just fantastic. The HE400SE started out being the worst headphone on this chain, now I like it more than the others after R-1N breaked in.

I have not yet listen to DI20HE for a couple of months. It will be in March after I get to know the sound from SPDIF 3.

1. PF I2S Bridge V1 -> PF I2S Cable -> R-1 NOS -> HE-9 LE
2. PF USB Bridge V2 -> Gothic USB -> SPDIF 3 -> PF I2S Cable -> R-1 NOS -> HE-9 LE
3. PF USB Bridge V2 -> Gothic USB -> DI20HE -> PF I2S Cable -> R-1 NOS -> HE-9 LE

I am almost forgetting how DI20HE sounds it has been that long. The Pink Fauns has been breaking for a couple of months, and sounds very promising. I still remember the sweet separations from the DI20HE which no DDC has ever managed to deliver. However the PF Bridge/cable is doing a very good job and not hiding anything. Warm and forward, fantastic pair with R-1NOS and HE400SE.

This headphone is a treasure. I can not hype it enough! Ordered one more

But yes, DDC face growing competition from smaller ~$400 converters and top quality streamers. And you seem in favour of more modern sound (even slightly not perfect in audiophile terms).

True this experience has been the best so far.

DI20HE is for me the best thing of Audio-gd.

It is the only way I can justify the potential of Susvaras soundstage together with R8H2. Amazing sound, and Flat EQ…

I started out downsizing/downgrading ended up buying more. I just need an amp, I am afraid I will also get the R27RE…

Master 19 is also calling and sayin it might be a better pairing(with R-1N) than the R27RE.
