Audeze SINE Series

That is very good to know. I didn't like the Oppo pads as just barely rode on the outside of my ears. I returned them. I also didn't like their pleather which kind of "creaked" on my ears if I turned my head. The sound was okay.
 
I'm hoping that either my smallish ears ride flat on the Sine cups, or somehow fit inside the inner rim. I guessing the latter is a long shot and might change the sound anyway. I also recently got the on-ear wireless B&W P5's. My ears seem to ride on the padded part of the ear cup well. Though the leather covers the inside of the ear pad, but you can see the outline of the inner ridge of the ear pad. Can anyone compare the P5's comfort to the Sine? I suppose it is all relative to the person.
 
I know the best way to know is to try them, but I don't have any stores near me that carry them. Besides, Moon Audio is great to work with, and I'm eagerly waiting for a Sine with Cipher cable.

I found the original P5 to be very clamping, and all B&W headphones aren't very large. But then again, I wear a size 8 ballcap. I'd have to tilt my P5 and P7 forward for it to sit comfortably on my head, while I don't even need to extend the Sine to fit my massive noggin.

Today I finally got to try the Audeze Sine headphones with Cipher (lightning) cable, and I have also found my keeper headphones.   I love the sound of these, crystal clear with a solid bass which is more comfortable than my V-Modas.  At £449 (with cable) they arent cheap, but given that I no longer need the Audiofly Red DAC its not so bad.  Being able to simply plug the cipher cable direct to my IPhone and go is so much more convenient,   Only had these for two hours, but I am sold already.

If you're an Apple guy...you're looking for portable...and you really value sound/performance...there honestly isn't a better combination on earth.

The Cypher cable with the Sine has cured me of any desire to have a portable DAC to pair with my iPhone. I also now do not have to worry about Apple dropping the headphone jack on the newer iphones, although I do play a lot of music from the headphone jack in my car, guess I might still need a portable DAC for it after all.

I'm concerned about this. I recently returned the B&O H8 because my ears just couldn't find a comfortable spot in the ear cups. The top of my ears hurt no matter how I repositioned the headphones. The various positions with the top of my ear on the outside or inside of the hole just tweaked my ear. I'm currently using B&W P5 wireless headphones and thing the transitional area near the top of my ear much more comfortable. Oddly I sold my original non-wireless P5's because I had a similar pain issue as with the H8. I'm really hoping the Sine doesn't give me the same problem. I may finally get delivery of the Sine next week. The P5 wireless is decent BTW, but of course the Sine Cipher cable should outside it. I also just got the B&O H6 second generation, and I'm loving it after replacing the stock cable. Can't wait to get the Sine a do a comparison. Didn't like the B&H H7 sound, or the H8 compared to the P5 wireless.

I have never found a pair of on ears comfortable. However listened to the sine for about 6 hours on Thursday, and while I did adjust them a few times I never found them uncomfortable. Which I found surprising as there is quite a bit of clamp on them. The thing I liked is you can seemingly adjust where the pressure points are by shifting them with little impact on the sound.

I would always say try before you.buy but in the case of comfort its a tough one as it usually takes a while to find what's good for you.

I can say though that I am having no issues from someone who usually does and I wear glasses.

Still when I was at home I couldn't help but reach for my Sony z7s. They are extremely comfortable. In fact I prefer the tuning of the sine to the z7, however the space the z7 throws and the comfort make it great for relaxing.

I'm surprised more people haven't shared their Cipher EQ settings. After lots of experimentation, here's where I've settled. I tuned it to sound great when I'm outdoors (and dealing with periphery noise like wind, cars, etc)...but I've gotten so addicted to it I keep it the same indoors too. (although I admittedly don't use my Sine as much indoors, and use my open-backed pair instead)

Since I posted Sine was available for in-store pick up at many New York City Apple Stores, none of them have same day pick up. I've checked some west coast stores, same thing. Funny thing is, they are "in stock" for shipping to home, delivery in 2 days, but delivery to store is "about a week." At the same time, Audeze web site has had "back ordered" message almost a month now. Hmmm.

+1  Apple iPhone 6 + Cipher Cable + Audeze Sines is a great portable rig.  My search is over as well.

The EL-8 travel case is the best case I've found and I don't have any worries/issues about leaving the cable attached. The SINE cable appears to be very sturdy and I'd rather have the HP's stay in one place then slide around in a loose case. Cheers

I have tried the Amazon case and the Audeze EL-8 case.  They are both good cases, however, if you want to keep the cable connected, the EL-8 case has more room (I use it without the divider).  I have a large head, and have bent the Sines headband to fit.  The EL-8 case allows me to transport the Sines without losing the fit that I need.

Yes, I have the Mojo and it sounds awesome with the Sine.
