Audeze Penrose X and Penrose

They first updated the datalog telling the firmware update before actually release the firmware. Great, as expected from audeze regarding Penrose and their neglect.
The new firmware will get released in a few days. We have no intention of neglecting Penrose. Some of these features require us to get help from the chipset vendors etc. These have much longer cycle times. For example the "disconnected" message seems a simple problem to solve from outside, but we have to get the status from one chip to another and have that trigger an action.
The other option is to give updates that we are working on this. But with some of these issues, we do not get any ETA from the chip vendors. So the "we are working on it" gets old very quickly. We are fully committed to supporting all our products.

Is it even possible to change the mic gain wheel to a chat mix wheel without clicking it in? Just reverse how it is now?

Please this! I find the current method of clicking hardly ever works and it ends up messing with the mic gain. For a gaming headset I really think the gaming needs should come 1st.
At least give the option to swap the function if you choose too that way everybody is happy.

I use my headset for meetings. I'd be happy if they left it so I can easily adjust mic gain.

Chris
It’s firmware. If anything it should be relatively simple to have a toggle somewhere. Mic gain in general should be set and forget. The only reason why I have to move it is because I **** it up inadvertently in the first place because you just rotate a wheel.

Tried multiple ports on the front and back of the series X along with the USB extender with the same result. I was to the point where the dongle was a foot away from me and it was still doing it.

Nothing network wise has changed so I can't see why there would be "new" interference as it happens sporadically which is the most annoying part. At least this update stops the voice cue for it so let's see if it actually stops dropping too.
Try to change rourets WiFi channel

Ideal case would be, this is s/w configurable. But the chipset does not support easily doing this on the fly in S/W.
So the only way to do this would be to do a permanent change in firmware. But we tested this and it causes a lot of UX confusion.

From personal experience, some people prefer mic gain being the default scroll action, and some people want game/chat mix.

Either way we can't please everyone.

As it stands, game/chat mix is an Xbox only function. So it personally doesn't make sense for it to be the default action, whereas mic gain works for everything.

As mentioned by the Audeze account, it's not something that can be configurable at the software level. A choice had to be made, and considering the uses, I personally believe mic gain being the default action is the right call.

I understand that but it would be nice if it was integrated into the Penrose X beings how they are for XB (knowing the specific function of the game/chat mix on that console)

Penrose and Penrose X headsets share the same firmware, so it wouldn't be possible to separate those functions.
