IMO, its a glue issue and no glue lasts forever some may encounter this issue sooner than others based on usage, headsize and temperatures.

I cant see either ( i would have to have one in front of me and a magnifier even) but it would be done early in the process as a sub assembly and probably painted over later down the manufacture process.

i think the whole top part metal is glued to the headband and the hinghes i hope audeze can clarify this.

PC user here. I want to get Maxwell, but I noticed something...all the PS5 ones seem to be out of stock and on backorder while a few xbox versions are available. I know that PS5 has the Tempest and Xbox has Dolby, but for a PC user does it really matter which one you get? I know I need the dolby license on PC and that's the extra $30 for the xbox version, but otherwise would it matter?

Cause if not I might just scoop up an xbox one. Might be nice to have the option to try Dolby as well. Either would work in BT as well so my steam deck would be perfect for this !

Most likely. Xbox version is $30 more on top of that and people will only get it if they have both an Xbox and PlayStation. Otherwise having just a PlayStation and/or PC, the PS version would be all you need.

Generally leads to bloated bass & reduced treble. I don't want to alter the sound. Not everything can be fixed with EQ.

This is just speculation on my part though. I'd love to be wrong.
