Whatever they end up calling it, I hope it uses the framework of the CRBN with a new planar diaphragm and a Harman-ish tuning.

Audeze has been going wild the last few months... the LCD-R (ribbonish planar) in July, the CRBN (electrostat) in August, and the LCD-5? (planar?) in September...

Elsewhere in the LCD-4 thread, it talks about dates shown on that pic lining up to dates of previously released LCD models - LCD-2, LCD-3, and LCD-4. So likely it'll be the LCD-5.
That makes sense.

waiting for the LCD-1 Closed back plz
I doubt the LCD-1 Closed back is going to be their big release tomorrow. It’s gotta be the LCD-5.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see the CNT technology used for the electrostatic CRBN make it’s way into a new planar LCD-5. Possibly the use of carbon weave or monocoque for the housing instead of wood rings or metal finished in a high gloss piano finish.

I wonder where it will sit with regards to price. I would like to see it around the $4k price with the older LCD models getting a drop in their price. I doubt that will happen and it will be $5k+ since that seems to be the new TOTL headphone price baseline these days.
