Hey guys im torn between the audeze lcd4 and the he1000 v2 s
Ive read already alot of reviews of both but still cant choose.
Has anyone heard them both? How do they compare?
I will be driving them with the milo from wells audio.

I got to listen to both at CanJam and the lcd4 definitely beat out anything in that room though I agree with other commentators, it shines with better recordings of classical music. Consider getting audiophile recordings when you go to audition them (something like http://linkwitzlab.com/sound_picture_cd.htm).

Finally got to hear the LCD-4 today. It's a great headphone and definitely has a sweet sound and is very articulate. Doesn't mean I like my Utopia any less and I can see both playing in the same house if money were no object.

Anyone have pics of the cocobolo vs macassar ebony. I got a pair of the LCD-4s and can't work out which mine are made of? The wood appears to be red under bright light with tight dark stripes and a patch of yellow on one earcup.

Sounds like Cocobolo. Cocobolo will have a red tint to it. Ebony will be much darker.

I found a used LCD-4 for sale. The owner claims that it is one year old but it has the blue cable. Can this be only one year old? If anybody can help it would be appreciated. Reply here or by pm.

If you have the serial number, Audeze should be able to give you the manufacturing date. The change from the blue cable to the current cable happened around this time last year IIRC, so it seems possible a one year old LCD-4 could have the blue cable.

I have a set manufactured in June 2016 and it has the blue cable. So it's definitely possible.

easily possible,you could probably even find a brand new unit with the blue cable if a dealer had one that never sold......and he didnt turn in

That's a good question. They haven't really said what new things are coming. I probably won't know for a few days
