Audeze LCD-4

Just got a reply from the seller and the serial number is 41432xx so it should be fine. The unit does have some scratches and chips on the aluminum (?) part on the outside so it's not really in mint condition but at around $1600 I believe it's still a good deal for this headphone?
Phenomenal price. If the scratches bug you feel free to contact Audeze and they can replace at a small cost. A full chassis replacement with pads is $500 so you’d still only be into them for $2100 and have a brand new headphone. Congratulations on the purchase.

The Sylvania 5814A has really expanded the soundstage of the LCD 4. I had an earlier Sylvania 5814A tube which really helped the soundstage width but this newer tube has increased the soundstage width by what sounds like another 10%. It has the soundstage size now of the 2021 LCD X while having better detail than the old tube and still needing to burn in so very happy so far. The vocals are great but not as full and sweet as the old tube but I am guessing it needs to burn in as I have just chucked in 2 of these tubes into my Cayin HA-3A and listened for an hour.

An update to my above post.

I did some comparisons with my HEKSE with regards to the soundstage width size now the Sylvania 5814A 12AU7 tubes plugged into my Cayin HA-3A.

The LCD 4 has now around 85%-90% of the soundstage width compared to the HEKSE which is astonishing how everything has opened up. The HEKSE already had a very wide and open soundstage and that hasn't expended much as I think I was already maxing out its soundstage potential with the previous tubes. However, now, there is so much room between the instruments with the LCD 4 which has either tricked me to an uptick in detail or there is just more space for everything with these new tubes.

I am trying to compare Susvara to LCD-4 and I forgot how hard it is to EQ to a similar target without measurement gear.
I bought it purely out of curiosity and because the price was good. My 4 stuck around even after I sold the LCD-5. So, I'm pretty sure it will make it through this desk invader as well.
So far though it sounds better. I underestimated Susvara.
LCD-5 and LCD-4 are still the bass champs. Honestly though I wish I still had an LCD-5 to compare with.

Congrats. Awesome deal. I got mine this year and sent it back to rebuild. Probably work out to be double that price but i am not complaining.

It's nice to have a suspension headband that doesn't.... rest against the rigid part of the headband, defeating the purpose of a suspension headband.
Yeah, I punched some extra holes in the Audeze strap to shorten the strap a little. Huge improvement in comfort.

Got one of these, and IMO it's an essential purchase. It's nice to have a suspension headband that doesn't.... rest against the rigid part of the headband, defeating the purpose of a suspension headband.

Same here, the headband stretches over the time.
Specially if you hang the ‘phones on it for storage.

Did some new holes at the bands mounting part too, and it’s fine again.
Hang it on the rigid part now.
