I have no idea if I properly EQ. But, this is what I have for LCD-4.

is there any way to tell whether an LCD4 is the 100-ohm or 200-ohm version? I saw a good deal on a used unit at my local market but the owner is unsure about the purchase date. I don't think the unit is as old as 2015 but just wanna ask to be sure.

Ask the owner for the serial number which is located on the headband yoke. If it’s lower than 4142270 it’s a 100-ohm. If it’s higher than that it’s 200-ohm.

Thanks! That is exactly what I was looking for :)
No problem. My unit is only 35 away from that number so I had to check it in the same way. Good luck with your purchase. Good condition units are becoming harder to find and most owners aren’t silly enough to sell them anymore.

Just got a reply from the seller and the serial number is 41432xx so it should be fine. The unit does have some scratches and chips on the aluminum (?) part on the outside so it's not really in mint condition but at around $1600 I believe it's still a good deal for this headphone?

What amp/DAC are you going to run it on?

I have the Chord Qutest and Bryston BHA-1 which should be fine enough?
Yes but please use the 4 pin output as the LCD 4 demands a lot of power.

This headphone has given me the best vocals, bass, richness of instruments/midrange I have heard in a headphone so you are in for a real treat. People say the soundstage is narrow which I tended to agree when I only ran a Topping A90D but switching to a tube amplifier with the right tubes has expanded the soundstage and given more space for instruments which has perfected the biggest downside that I had with this headphone.

What tube amp do use. I use one with impedance selector with 1 watt per channel. Do you think that's sufficient enough?

Can anyone tell if this is the new pad from the 2021 revision or the original pad? From what I can tell the original pad is very thick and this seems to be a bit thinner than that but any confirmation would be nice.
