The LCD-5 pads are their own beast - the pads we're referring to here are for the 2/3/X/4 series. Sometime in 2020, along with changing from felt to mesh under the grills, they redid of the dimensions of the pads and apparently they're amazing.Which are the new Audeze pads, the LCD5 pads or something totally different?

Thanks I must have missed that. Do you have any picture of the old and new LCD-4 pads or more info about this?
There is a lot of pad info in the X/XC threads. Main thing is that the new pad are open cell foam (as apposed to memory foam) and they are shallower and softer. I have them on my LCD-3.

I had a 2020 LCD-3 (with the mesh under the grills and glossy finish on the cups) and could tell the pads were different, but I didn't have another model on-hand to compare it to.There is a lot of pad info in the X/XC threads. The X/XCs also had driver revisions that roughly correspond to the new pads, so it's hard to tell what the pads are doing vs what the drivers are doing.

I have recently had both my LCD4 headphones and LCDXC headphones get driver replacements and new pads and I notice that the pads on my XC’s are thicker than the 4’s. Both are recent so I suppose the two headphones use different pads. I am very pleased with the work Audeze service has done for me. I love both headphones. They are different from each other but both nice.
Interesting, I though all the full size LCD lineup had the same pads. Are they both leather and open cell foam?I have recently had both my LCD4 headphones and LCDXC headphones get driver replacements and new pads and I notice that the pads on my XC’s are thicker than the 4’s. I think so. Both are leather and very soft. I suppose they could be different generation pads. The pads on my 4’s are from 2021 and on my XC’s 2022. Is there a difference?

I notice that the pads on my new replaced drivers and pads on my LCDXC headphones are thicker than my newly replaced pads on my LCD4 headphones. I don’t mind and am enjoying both headphones but I don’t know if the pads on the XC’s and the 4’s are supposed to be the same. Mine are not.

Google "audeze lcd-4 new pads" and in the search results you'll see a picture of the two different pads from a forum we're not allowed to post links to.I notice that the pads on my new replaced drivers and pads on my LCDXC headphones are thicker than my newly replaced pads on my LCD4 headphones. EDIT: Or, google "New Audeze LCD series earpads - everyone should upgrade" in quotes like that. Hopefully this post doesn't get removed for posting a thread title.

It’s hard to say. The pads on my XC’s are new for sure but the pads on my 4’s may be an earlier generation. They are not as thick but they are still from 2021.
