Giving the LCD-4 a demo listen as I post. I am preferring it over the HE-1000 so far.

Now a proud owner of the LCD-4.

congrats. how do you find the weight?

The weight is my one and only issue with the LCD-4, but they're comfortable which makes up for it a lot.

I could wear these for hours, just did while demoing and feel like I could do double or triple it.

Weird observation.

I tried the LCD-4 with a standard dual mini xlr to 4-pin XLR cable and found that it seemed to lack the sound quality of the SE cable that is included with it.

Wow...that was a last second change. FWIW, I much prefer the LCD-4s to the Abyss! Congrats!

Glad I am not the only one to prefer the LCD-4 to the Abyss.

The only other besides myself and iSquirrel so far.

The type that comes with the LCD-X and LCD-3.

Interesting...could be that the new LCD-4 has improved over their previous stock iterations. I've got a balanced Q Audio Silk cable with the LCD-4s that I'm using and I do prefer running the LCD-4 balanced with my GS-X Mk2. Congrats on the LCD-4s!

I'm surprised I enjoyed them over the Abyss considering what everyone says about them, but hey it's about damn time for a new king.

That's interesting, I really don't personally buy into the whole better cable (outside of build quality and warranty) fiasco after my own tests, so I am a bit confused as to why I did not prefer the balanced cable over the SE.

Maybe there is something up, I guess I really don't know.

they are indeed heavy and bulky, they sound terrific but boy putting on the KEK or HD800S is quite a bit easier and more comfortable...that said they are excellent IMHO as i listen to Art Blakey Free for all through them
