Audeze LCD 3 pads on an LCD 2

Hello,
Does anyone know if this changes the sound of the LCD 2 at all.  If it does is it for the better or for the worse?

People don't recommend that(I'm pretty sure). Or maybe it is that Audez'e won't sell you LCD-3 pads if you have an LCD-2.
