I spent a few hours
listening 🎧 to Neil Young's catalog on Amazon HD including Zuma and Everybody Knows This is Nowhere yesterday with Modius > THX789 and during those few hours I enjoyed the timbre, neutrality, focus, and comfort (!) of these headphones. At one point I forgot about the equipment and soaked in the music.

Doesn't seem to matter how many headphones I've demo'd or buy I come back to this one. It's like a nice blanket and pillow.
I feel the same way. I have had mine for years now.
Lost interest in upgrading them.
But now the pads are starting to wear out.
The "leather" is coming off..
Guess i will have to buy a new pair of pads hehe

I tried all the equalizer presets that I found on the Internet for these headphones. And to be honest, I always returned to the stock setting. They sound incredible stock!
I add a +3 bass shelf, but otherwise untouched. Such a musical headphone.

I use the dsp plug in and that's about it.

Differences between the pads should be subtle. That's why we have both options available. We can't account for aftermarket pads, but official AUdeze pads should be consistent in terms of sound. Note that as you have used yours for sometime, there may be more changes due to age of the foam, how soft and compressed the old ones have become, etc. Also, if you have pads from a headphone that is older than late 2020 manufactured date (older pads will have a protein leather substrate on the bottom where it adheres to the adhesive kit, where as the newer pads don't have that.) Below for reference.

New pads first.

The newer pads will have slightly more energy at 3khz as the biggest change in sound. By just a few db.

My 2C pads are starting to fall apart. I am thinking of going for the leather pads.

What are the sound differences between the stock and leather pads?
I just install Dekoni ones, working fine. I don't ear any real change on sound...

After a year in tropical weather, it was time to change it. Does anyone know where I can buy a weather suspension strap in Europe, mine is letting lots of black parts on my bold head?

You can contact the distrobutor to see if they have straps available for sale.

Check the distributor for whichever European country you're in.

So, I used the Oratory EQ on my LCD-2C last night. I actually find this to be better than the Audeze EQ that I use via Roon. I did knock back the treble and bass adjustments as I found them a bit too much, but I'm really enjoying the at a different level now.

Okay it may be not the theard for my prefaz LCD2 r2 but anyone here tried the LCD2c with a tube amp? I have been using my LCD2 r2 with my new clone Bottlehead Crack for a week and obviously love the sounding. The pairing brings the depth to the planar wall-of-sound that I feel flat and claustrophobic. I prefer my Crack to all of my other ss amps now.

As a rule of thumb planar magnetics and tube amps do not enjoy a happy marriage but if you like it then you like it :relaxed:

I tried 2C with Schiit Vali 2 and I really enjoyed the combo, much preferred over solid state.
