I am going to be getting an Atticus in the not so distant future, but I also want to have an open planar can with good bass....I am intrigued by the LCD that is darker sounding

I had LCD2.2 Pre Fazor before and I loved everything about it except the weight that ended up being sold. I even prefer the LCD2 than its brother LCD3; now that Audeze has the lighter version of the non-Fazor LCD2 with less price, I can't stop myself from getting one

They seem to be a perfect LCD for almost half the price of the others, now if only they could still incorporate the wood rings somehow. The wood was half the appeal of the design for the LCD series to me.

Lol fair enough, sound is the main concern here anyway. And from what I've heard they should sound fairly good

Go Audeze if you want a different flavor of sound (Bright HD800s vs Warm LCDs). However, it may sound really dark to you since you're coming from a really bright headphone. Especially since these are to mimic the pre-fazor versions.

Thanks. I too am thinking of a totally sound signature to the Hd800. Perhaps Audeze will do. But since I have already tried the LCD2 I do hope the C2 will sound similiar. The cost is the attraction as of now.

Oddly enough the wood rings are the one thing that didn’t appeal to me about the LCD series. The X and now the 2C look so much better! Bocote LCD-XC are the best of all, but then... Personal taste I guess

Did anyone else notice that it says that the LCD2C will have a "Carbon fiber suspension headband" on the Audeze website?

The picture certainly doesn't look like carbon fiber to me!

*Edit it also seems that the Ohms have changed to 70????*

The picture does show the carbon fiber headband. It should be 70 ohm like the original lcd2.
