Audeze LCD-2C Classic - Impressions Thread

Hi,

I've been playing around with my LCD2 Classic with a Schiit Asgard 3 (True Multibit DAC card) for some time now. It is musical with great slam and is overall enjoyable. I can listen for many hours without fattige.

Thinking of upgrading though... I get the feeling that the music is presented with quite a wide brush. Most stuff is probably there but that I maybe miss some of the finer details and resolution. Maybe the LCD2 classic with kind of a lush and dark sound pair better with more analytical gear?

What would be a good upgrade path? Get a better DAC first or another DAC/AMP combination altogether for the LCD2C? What is your favorite combination?

It's because it's a 'classic' example of Audeze upper-mids suck-out. DAC/Amp will not fix a response. I found out EQ will not either. No matter what they say about lower distortion with EQ, EQ will not fix physicality of the driver response, when the driver sucks-out a part of a range like that.

I snagged an LCD2C from the forums and just got them yesterday. My 2nd planar and first Audeze headphone ever. They came with the older style flat Audeze XLR cable. I'm running them from my Jot with the standard (balanced) DAC module and these things are really good! I've seen it mentioned here but they really do excel at classic rock like Rush. They also do very well with modern pop like Post Malone and Taylor Swift. And they rock the hell out with Tool! Overall I'm very pleased with my first Audeze experience!

I listen to a tonne of Taylor and rush lol.

I recommend my EQ to bring out the treble. Otherwise you're not getting any of the high hats, or finger snaps etc.

I've never really been an EQ user but tell me how I can implement this in foobar2k? Thanks man!

This specific config setup is for Windows APO. If you're running foobsr in asio or wasapi it will bypass any plugins.

With Windows APO program the EQ applied there would apply to all sound. Not just foobar.

thanks. saw drop offered dekoni's pad before. wonder if they are still available.
I might email audeze directly n ask if I can buy replacement pads. Hoping with my serial number and warranty info they'll be willing.
