I'm pretty interested in these cans. Hopefully the closed version is a solid performer. As someone who builds his own cables, I looked at the new proprietary connector and wanted to punch a wall. Seems like a number of companies are trying to make their own connectors so they can peddle their cables to the consumers. While I enjoy making cables, I don't enjoy having 10+ cables hanging around because the industry can't stick to a standard. They'll probably charge an obscene amount for raw connectors until something comes out on Lunashops.
Still, I'm interested to see how the connector performs and real progress in terms of performance is always welcome.
Personally, if I cared enough about custom cables, I think this would be a perfectly valid reason to boycott this product. I think that, unless they can provide some really good backup as to why they use this connector, the obvious conclusion is to
That said, I don't care about custom cables. I assume that if I get this headphone, I won't need a replacement cable anytime soon and, by the time I do, there should be some cheap Chinese alternatives on eBay.
