The RE2's are pretty much at the highest I would want to listen at the lowest volume setting on my Zune 30. I've been trying to find a level attenuator to use. Any suggestions on where to look? I searched the IEM forums, but didn't have much luck, other than a few posts about the attenuator that comes with Shure. Basically looking for a 'universal' attenuator that would work with the RE2's.

There is another one that is made by Audio-Technica but they are a lot more difficult to find. You can also consider adding an inline resistor adapter.

Oddly enough, Head Direct has a nice 75 Ohm cable (DW04) for $25.

I'm using it right now in between RE2s and a Cowon D2. Phones straight out of the D2 are comfortable listening at 06/50 volume. With the 75 Ohms I can bump it up to maybe 09/50. So not much difference, really.

Just got these a few days ago and most of my listening has been Cowon D2 > iBasso D2 Boa > RE2s.

I guess all I can say is you'll need a fair bit of impedance to slow these down.
