Ok, I am giving in to the nagging in the back of my brain and asking for a recommendation for a DENON full sized headphone that is amazing and $150 or less, preferably much less. I am happy to take recommendations for older models, even much older models. I need to experience some Denon sound. I CANNOT go over $150. Please help, I don't know anything about Denon headphones.

Thanks

Denon D2000 was selling at Amazon for $199.99 free shipping (which is amazing deal IMO) but if you seriously cannot go over $150, you'd have to stick with Denon D1001k or else hope and wait for used D2000 (dunno if it ever goes down to $150)

edit: nvm, I don't think D2000 will ever drop down to that price level, especially when considering shipping to outside CONUS. I'd suggest to go with D1001k

Just chiming in to say I've heard a D2k and thought it was not nearly as good as people make them out to be.

In fact, the guy who had it sold it very quickly.

d1001k owner here. These phones have a ton of potential. get them to start. they grow pretty well with associated equipmrnt, but arent so much that you cant use mid-fi stuff. very open for a closed can.

Just to add that the shipping will be to the CONUS, my stuff is brought here personally from California through friends. So the shipping thing is not an issue.

Please see in my sig my other phones too, so you know what I am used to. The Grado HF-2's are my most expensive ones.

Thanks so far~!

It certainly isn't a reference headphone, it's meant to be a musical, fun can. Sound is very obviously colored.

By association that means not everyone will like them.

I think you should try and shell out a little over your budget and get the D2000. I think you will be very impressed. never heaqrd the 1001 but the 2000 is supposed to be an upscale model.

Get the Creative Aurvana Live if you're on a budget $99 - same drivers, cable etc as the D1001.
