Happy to have gotten to speak with this young lady as she too has a passion for the Eagles Hotel California, listening to the track. Only because it's a common point of reference but also because she herself personally enjoys the music itself
as do I!

Was also excellent getting to hear another old fashioned portable stack, also it was good to hear another heavily modified and personally customized hd800, this unit had the Annex mods in addition to some dekoni pads and a new paint job

This young man was himself a musician and I always Enjoy meeting and conversing with people who are passionate about music people who are passionate about creating music

And also have a passion for High Fidelity playback!

This was my first time hearing this Sony CD 3000, found its response fairly linear pretty enjoyable kind of wish that Sony's latest headphone had a similar presentation, though total balance aside well it wasn't as resolving as the newer model it wasn't very far behind. Thanks for bringing it @purk

Really enjoyed hearing the rag and Iggy with the LCD 4, after hearing the analog gen 1 models previously I have to say that I was impressed with the improvements the analog Gen 2 models have

Big thanks to @Jason Stoddard continuing to improve what was already an amazing product, @ThePianoMan making it out to today's meet with these new Gen 2 analog models & @evanrude having the audeze lineup on hand!!

Towards the end of the show we had a little solid state versus hybrid tube mini comparison

As you might expect the results for a 50/50 both products sounded excellent of course sure it was hard to pick a definitive favorite right then and there at least for me

Enjoyed getting to chat about my vintage AKG K 240
@theotherjude you'll be happy to know they love how it sounded with El Dac!

A young man an his wife attended and had a listen of what he described her as a fancy iPod

Though being a fan of 60 to 70 era rock and roll I played her some Led Zeppelin, I think in the end she did enjoy her time listening to the Questyle qp2r that I had from @Todd with my Magnum V7 build design assembled brought into this world at the hands of @fleasbaby

@purk was present with his amazing collection of top-of-the-line equipment,

Though the overall highlight of the show for me was getting to meet @tomb From Beezar Audio and Tom of ECP Audio

And listening to the new torpedo 4 deigned by Doug, quite frankly I think that hybrid metal wood chassis is one of the most beautiful I've seen to date!! Its design and integration of both elements is really breathtaking!! And its featured on both the DAC and full size torpedo 4 amp

Really enjoy meeting and chatting with everybody. Many thanks to John and everyone at the Atlanta Audio and Video Club for hosting meet. Really appreciate Schitt and Audeze for making this meet special and providing refreshment. Their reps are very friendly and easy to talk to, and they are a true asset to our hobby. Also had a great time talking and hanging out with Beezar/ECP Audio gurus Tom and his friend Bill. Lastly, a big THANK to Arthur Power of Matrix and Violetric as well as Justin Wilson of Headamp for sending the demo equipment. Wish the meet is longer!

I really wish I could be there. Thanks for sharing the pictures.
My brother...you were represented well at the meet. Many people love your DIY Jeklin Float clone. I sure wish that I took their pictures when they were wearing them.

I told them that I just got lucky that you like me enough to make those DIY stats for me. I am happy that I brought it along for others to hear in person.

Sadly I didn't have a moment to listen to them, but they were the first thing that caught my eye

Just to be clear, I'm TomB (tomb) of Beezar Audio. Doug of ECP Audio, whose T4 amplifier I was excited to debut at the meet, was not there. My friend Bill was there however, graciously helping me all day long - many thanks!

I also enjoyed meeting you and discussing the possibility of a future meet at Myrtle Beach!

Swarms of other Industries come to our town for Gatherings and shows well I say it's finally time for some audioguys two to come and experience the beautiful city here

So happy everyone enjoyed themselves! The lady with the Focal Utopias was at her second meet and vows to return next year WITH the Utopias this time so stay tuned!! I had a ball and just wished I had had time to hear more of the systems. BTW, I did get the HifiMan Supermini working perfectly today. Turns out I needed to install a firmware update that fixed all the problems we experienced yesterday. Listening to it right now and it even plays my Sennheiser HD580 and 650 louder than I care to listen!! Listening to it through my HifiMan HE400i's and the sound is amazing for the tiny little player that it is!!

Keep the first Sunday in May open next year. Hopefully we'll be doing it again.

Many thanks to Grover Neville with Schiit Audio who co-sponsored the event and also to his partner in crime Evan Grimm with Audeze! They brought a lot of great equipment for us to enjoy. Also present were Tom B from Beezar Audio who brought his stupid good amps, and Purk who not only brought his own equipment, but equipment provided by Justin Wilson of Headamp and Arthur Power of Violectric and Matrix!! Also others too numerous to mention who made this such a great meet! Can't wait until next year!!

John
