I am planning on getting Athena AS-B1 and T-Amp. It will be powered by AV-710. Could someone please tell me what cables do i need to get for this combo. I heard that i can just get speaker wire at Home Depot, but i dont know what to look for. also i need a cable to connect my AV-710 to T-Amp. Thanks

Hey Slacker

This is the exact same thing im running right now. what you will need is a mini to mini cable (stereo) going from your chaintech to the t-amp. The input on the t-amp is just a single 1/8 jack exactly like the output on the chaintech.

The spring terminals on the t-amp for the speakers are kind of cheesy. just stick with some small guage zip cord from home depot or basic radio shack stuff to get you up and running. 14 guage brown lamp wire from home depot. sold by the foot from a spool.

Speakers ordered, T-Amp will be ordered within an hour, and cables will be made by TerryMX. does any1 know if Athena B1 uses banana connectors?

If they are spring-clips, then they either use pins or bare wire (with tin solder). If they are binding post, banana plugs will work.

Edit - I just searched and they use 5-way binding posts. They'll accept bananas, pins, wire, etc...

I also have the same setup. They sounded much better than I expected. I am very pleased. AS-B1 accept bannanas just fine. You have to take the nuts off of the binding posts though.

I was watching the Simpsons tonight through my T-amp and Athenas and noticed distortion. I wonder if the dvd is really compressed or am I stressing my t-amp?

Where did you get the T-amp from? I might get one for a friend.
