HA-160 > W1000X here. Beautiful and highly enjoyable combo.

I really shouldn't like it because of the enormously generous high frequency content but the Burson handles it all so well it's effortless and very musical.

Recommended to all.

I liked them best at low volumes.

That way the midbass made the music sound "full" and the highs were just right for me if a bit bright.

Recieved my w1000x a few days ago but I have been traveling so haven't giving it a real listen yet.  This thing is prettier than I expect :) Sounds pretty great through casual listening.

Ok - it arrived! Safe and sound and straight out of the box - wow - the fit, finish and build quality is amazing.

Listened to Rodrigo y Gabriela and Nirvana / Nevermind last night and very impressive. A bit tight / new and needs a lot of burning in I suspect, but so far - impressed me more than the W5000 I had once....

More to follow + a few pixc of them on my Sieveking stand?

W1kx I'd say now - BUT is is new and needs a good burn in + it was several years ago I had the w5k.

Let me listen more and come back with more constructive comments. Cheers

W5000 is for sure the brighter headphone though due to severely rolled off bass which the W1000 does not have at all. The W1000X is a bit bright/hot too though.

Is A2000X better for classical music than W5000 and W1000X ?

Initially I would say yes - i will report more. They are both great cans thought - but VERY different.

I liked my W1000x a lot for classical... robust low end really gives character to symphonies and the unique very 3D soundstage is a treat.

I have not heard the AD2000X but it would seem it is just a matter of taste... warmer sound for more like in symphonies would be W1000X... colder more sterile sound would be AD2000X

Mine has arrived.  It gives me a good fit and my ears can fit into the pads.  The build quality is good, everything feels solid except for those materials between the pads and the metal holders.  They feel flimsy.  With respect to Sennheiser HD650, it's brighter and less veiled, and its bass doesn't extend as low.  That's the initial impression so far.
