I am a filmmaker, and I want a new pair of headphones to listen to the audio coming from my mic. I am using a Sennheiser MKE 600 shotgun mic with a Tascam recorder. I want to hear exactly what is coming from the mic, meaning I want the headphones to be neutral and accurate. I want as little distortion as possible. I have narrowed it down to the ATH-M50S, the Sennheiser HD 380 PRO, and the Shure SRH840. Which of these should I choose, and if you have any other headphone suggestions for me, what are they?

What sources will the mic and headphones be plugged into?

Gemini HSR-1000 (Takstar Pro 80) headphones, sells on eBay for $50.

They will be plugged into my Tascam DR-40 4-Track portable digital recorder.

The HSR-1000 should work with the Tascom.
But on second though it might be worth it to get the Shure SRH-840, I believe they might have the edge in audio detail, over the HSR-1000 (guessing)
There is also the JVC HA-S500 (HA-S400) folding headphones, low cost ($35-$60), folding, what i use for portable music audio.
But it's late and my brain is shutting down, I guess i should go to sleep and offer my amature audio opinions in the morning.
