I recently purchased a new pair of ATH M50's and i've noticed a few things.  To start there is, most of the time, low level white noise playing, and second at certain frequencies there is a slight crackle, it's not very noticeable if it is a busy song, but if it is calm and quiet I can hear it.  I was wondering if it was a manufacturer error or what im running headphones from.  Ive noticed it on both my phone and computer.

I just bought it online from a music store called sweetwater.

They seem legit but I'd return the headset and get the same one, might be a defective unit. Hopefully, it's still under warranty. I think Audio Technica offers a seperate warranty, you should look into it if you aren't holding a warranty with sweetwater.
