Do you think buying the GR07 will be an upgrade from the ATH-m50 concerning sound quality only?
I listen to music from my laptop or iphone 4 through Fiio 6

Probably not a significant upgrade. If you want something to rival your M50's in an IEM form, checkout the Ultimate Ears 600.

I haven't heard the GR07 personally so I wouldn't be able to say but my UE600's are my favorite IEM I own due to their neutrality and overall sound good with all EDM except hardstyle. They don't reproduce reverse bass as well. >_<
