Hello I am planning on buying the ATH - M50 headphones and I cannot decide if there would be a significant  increase in sound quality for it to be worth it to buy an amp.

Price - Preferably under $100
Connectivity - Should be able to plug into an outlet (if not i guess thats OK)
Size - Not really a huge problem for me.
Sound Quality - The BIGGEST thing. I need a noticeable difference in sound quality in order to purchase an amp.
(My main concern is that I have heard is that the mids are recessed on the ATH - M50. Therefore, I need an amp that will bring out the mids      while still defining the other ranges with clarity)

Thanks in advance.

The sound quality difference isn't going to be big. If you buy something like the Fiio E9 for 130, you'll likely get up to $30 worth of difference. Meaning you could probably match it with headphones that maybe for for 160 without an amp. Amps are definitely not there to give you the best bang for the buck. They are to squeeze the last bits of potential out of your headphones. If you are willing to spend extra for an amp you are much better off just buying more expensive headphones.
