Ok so I am appealing for help again. Which is better and has a flatter frequency response? ATH-M40X or ATH-M50X?

Hi guys, I am looking for a new pair of budget audiophile headphones. I have heard of the ATH-M50 and really like them but I am put off by the recessed mids. I also heard that the ATH-M40 is really flat in frequency response, which I really enjoy. I heard a video review of the M20x, M30x, M40x and M50x by SonicSenseProAudio on Youtube and thought the sound test showed the recessed mids and slightly emphasised bass of the M50x, which I really do not like, compared to the neutral sound of the ATH-M40x. So, pls give me your recommendations!

P.S. Pls recommend to me a pair of headphones around SGD 229 (singapore currency) if there are any other better, flatter frequency response pairs as this is the M50x's starting price. Thank You!

So, you have a budget of 230 SGD, which I guess is around 180 USDs, you want balanced audio and audiophile audio quality and headphones that fold.
You might check out the Shure SRH840s.
I've never listened to the Shures, but I think they are close to what your looking for.

K thks for that, but I have alrdy checked those out. Looking at Senn PX 360, Senn HD 380 PRO and HD 280 PRO as well. Someone recommended me the HD 280 PRO as he said that with the HD 380 PRO u have to vet through a handful of pairs before u find one with more balanced sound.

And in SG, the conversion rate is 1 USD to abt 1.26 SGD, so i can go up to 191 USD.

Per AT, the M40X is flatter.

Here is my review of the M40x: http://www.head-fi.org/t/712635/audio-technica-ath-m40x-the-little-brother-that-could
