ATH-A700 vs ATH-AD700

Mind you the A700's are huge. They are not practical as portable headphones or even ones that you can carry around with you, since they take a lot of luggage space.

So you might want to look at the ES7 if you need portability.

hard to come by huh?

The A700 isn't that bad looking and yeah the AT cans are rather huge, not exactly ideal for on the go use.

I think the AD700 could be in an ugly contest but the A700 look nice. Of course I don't care too much about looks.

AD700 look much better in the flesh

Just another warning, the a700's are some of the largest headphones that I have ever seen. You will not be able to fit them in a bag without the fear of them breaking. They don't seem like they are the sturdiest of headphones... Other than that, they sound absolutely amazing!!

I don't own them any more, but these are photos I took in the past next to Alessandro MS-1 and Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro:

hope this helps...
