Hi there, I have been getting this noise coming from my Asus Xonar Essence STX. It comes out of my headset when I plug it in the Analog output of the sound card. Before you have a listen I suggest you turn your volume down a bit.

This ONLY happens with the Analog output, I am currently using the SPDIF output to my astro mixamp (which sucks).

I have latest drivers installed.

There are three analog outputs on the Essence STX, the back panel 1/4" headphone output, the RCA line-output
and the front panel 3.5mm output (which is both headphone and line-output).

Did you disable the motherboard's  on-board audio? in the BIOS.

If you used the front panel headphone jack, try the 1/4" headphone output on the card instead, which should not be noisy if you do not have very sensitive headphones or IEMs. Front panel audio connectors are known to be prone to interference.

Have you got the volume in the Asus software set to 100 on each channel? By default, I believe it's set to 76. I have mine set to 88 with no noise that I can hear (my computer fans are loud)
