Hey all!

Campfire Audio is super excited to announce our all-new, dual planar magnetic IEM, Astrolith!

The acoustics team at Campfire has newly engineered every facet of this IEM to bring about a unique, new listening experience. Astrolith features two new planar drivers, an updated 14.2mm low/mid driver and a 6mm planar high driver. These are paired with our newly engineered tuning elements, the Particle Phase Resonator (PPR), and the Additive Acoustic Optical Inclusion (AAOI) housing.

All of these elements come together to create an earphone with an astounding dynamic range that can maintain incredible speed and accuracy from the deepest lows to the highest highs. Astrolith uses a purist approach to maximize the superior technicalities offered by planar magnetic drivers.

This exciting new internal architecture is wrapped in our partially transparent, AAOI shell paired with a terraced, hand-polished, stainless steel faceplate. Astrolith is the new standard-bearer of our planar IEM evolution. Side-by-side with Supermoon & Moon Rover, we are proud to offer a well rounded and diverse line of planar IEMs.

Astrolith is available for purchase starting Aug. 6th at 9am PST

KB and I are happy to answer any questions, look forward to hearing everyone's thoughts!

Really excited to read about this.
What also struck me is the engineering that must have gone into this; I'm thinking it must have been quite a challenge to produce a 6mm planar driver that performs to your requirements! And the design looks really classy and attractive as well :)

I was wondering if you might be able to elaborate further on the sound signature of the Astrolith, especially compared with Supermoon and Bonneville?
I'm a lover of big bass (Bonneville and Trifecta both float my boat!), but also of fast transients and high levels of detail retrieval.
I wonder if this is quite linear and neutral throughout like the Moon Rover, or perhaps a bit more L-shaped, with a powerful bass allied to a signature that's fairly neutral across the rest of the spectrum? Or something completely different? :)

Nice but no custom version?

No dedicated custom for this. However, we have some things in development to provide slip-over style custom tips for our products. This is in the early phases but we'll have more on this soon.
I would like to know how much will it cost ? Also will this be an upgrade or sidegrade to my Supermoon ?

Astrolith is priced at $2199.

We feel that Astrolith is a really exciting advancement of overall performance in the realm of planar IEMs. Its technical performance and measurable acoustics are pretty astounding, especially in terms of its dynamic range and low/high extension. Astrolith is an upgrade in almost every sense, down to its updated/improved 14mm planar driver.

Now, I'm sure there are some that may still prefer Supermoon, as is generally the case with IEMs, different flavors appeal to individual tastes differently. But broadly speaking Astrolith is an upgrade and the new standard-bearer for our planar offerings.

I'm going to let KB hop in and respond to re: the (massive) engineering lift on this. As I know he has a lot of thoughts on that haha.

I'm hoping to spend some more time A/Bing with this and have some more comparison notes soon. But, I will say, despite the similarity in the FR curves between Bonneville and Astrolith, these earphones are totally different experiences, and a stark example of the limitations of FR as a descriptor.

If you love bass and fast transients, Astrolith is going to give you what you're looking for. This is an energetic earphone, bringing loads of resolution and technical capability, married with some of the CA house sound that many of you are familiar with.

I spend a lot of time trying to describe sound signatures, and this is one that's really hard to put into words, which I think lends credence to its unique architecture and tuning philosophy.

How do you think this will fair with metal music? I liked bonneville with metal, it this sounds more detail oriented which may work well.
