I’m going to compare mine when it arrives to my:
N8
Lpgt
Wm1z
Sp2k
N6ii e02
Using Sony z1r, andromeda and Solaris. Obviously it’s cheaper than the others but if it gets close I may sell one of them off.
What iems or headphones have you guys paired with your so far?
I'm really interested in reading your opinion, especially the synergy with Andromeda and Solaris (I've both too). From where did you order yours?
I was tempted to order an uncapped Sony ZX507 (amazon.jp) but I'm worried about possible issues with warranty. SR25 wouldn't have this specific issue as I can order it in UK.
I know Solaris and Andros sound fantastically with N6ii but this DAP is out of my budget...

Yes, the sideloaded apps bypass the Android SRC and play back in full resolution, including Tidal Masters.

I really do love the sound of the SR15 and probably will purchase the SR25. However, if this device bypasses Android SRC, then why does Amazon music report the device’s capability as a max 24bit 48khz even when the track quality is reported to be 24bit 96khz? The Hiby R6Pro reports its device capability as 24bit 192khz and it definitely bypasses SRC. This particular song is from Iggy Pop’s The Idiot album which is 24bit 96khz on Amazon Music HD.

Is the EQ of this device working system wide? So can you also EQ installed streaming services like Tidal? Or does EQ only work with the A&K player app?

@JasonNYC Might confirm it but I remember seeing other such issues linked to Amazon Music HD on A&K DAPs.

is the issue linked to Amazon Music HD... OR is Amazon Music HD the only app that actually tells you what the effective output is. Tidal and Qobuz do not reveal that. I have a feeling that the player is not bypassing Android SRC. now I have two (2) DAPS (ZX-507) that do this :frowning2:

I’ll trust @JasonNYC ’s word on the matter.

Good question. Here is a pic of the SR15 beside the Hiby R6 Pro playing the same song. The R6 Pro’s big claim is the ability to bypass SRC using their DTA technology. Interestingly, my Pioneer XDP-100r displays the same screen as the SR15 and the Pioneer definitely does not bypass SRC.

Could be. I prefer Qobuz anyway but just thought I would try Amazon HD for a month since a lot of people rave about it. I had also heard that Amazon HD stopped up-sampling everything to the max resolution off the DAP and thought I would check it out. I’m still preferring Qobuz though and it is the one I will stick with.

Qobuz doesn’t tell you when it streams hi-res files?
