I absolutely HATE A&K's whole 'crooked screen' design for their entry-level DAPs.

Normally I'd just ignore this garbage design, but I happen to prefer smaller DAPs, and of course A&K only uses this design on their smallest DAP!

Have you actually used these devices? If you had, youd likely experience a slightly easier time reading the entire screen which is smaller on this smaller device. The diagonal tilt makes it easier to hold and operate the device.

Youre still welcome to dislike it, but to say no reason exists betrays a lack of experience with these devices.

i also love the sr15/25 design and the feel of it in the hand.
however, 4 times in a row with the same dac (even if it is different implementations) is a little disappointing

I disagree.

The design is unique and excellent. I’d hope they’d keep it for as long as it works.

It would be better to wait for SR35 MK II XD
Seriously, I hate their marketing strategy. I still remember owned SR25 and and within 1 year (maybe 8-9 months) after purchased it, THEY FREAKING LAUNCHED SR25 MK II.
the MK II has 4.4mm and better battery life which made me angry and frustrated, it was a massive improvement. After that i was losing my mind and pulled the trigger to WM1A, didn't want to be toyed and fooled again by AK.

Hopefully, they won't make a same mistake by releasing SR35 MK II too fast.

The design is unique and excellent, and i'm glad they kept it.
My disappointment is in using the 43198 dac four times in a row.
I guess it wasnt clear enough in my original post

AK are well known for yearly refreshes. Not entirely sure you were toyed and fooled...

I think this is a fair point.

However if they keep refining an excellent product, reducing R&D costs to keep the device cost lower this could be a large advantage to the consumer.

I still love a Burr Brown DAC to be honest. It’s all about implementation.

Although I am not sure if reduced r&d costs will pass to the consumer,
I do wholeheartedly agree that it's all about implementation.
Bring back the burr brown vs wolfson days! :D

Then only difference between the SR25 and the SR25 MK II was the addition of the 4.4mm balanced out. The battery capacity and battery life was exactly the same. It was a little over a year between the SR25 and MK II. It is almost 2 years since the SR25 MK II was released.

Bring back the burr brown vs wolfson days!
Cirrus Logic bought out Wolfson back in 2014 and the Cirrus Logic MasterClass Series DACs, which are used in the A&norma series are based on the Wolfson DAC chips.
