Nothing new regarding possible future LDAC support.

I have the Hugo2 and the Cube too, at least for now until I divest of one or the other. They serve different purposes but I don't want so many DAPs in my possession while they slowly depreciate in value. The Hugo2 has better separation and layering to my ears, but its a bit underpowered for my Diana Phi and way underpowered for the Abyss 1266 Phi. I bought the Cube primarily to power those two. I also have the SP1000M which I can only pair with IEMs. Too much hardware floating around.

If there was a transportable battery-powered amp that I could successfully pair with Hugo2 or SP1000M as a source then I would go that route. The only one that I know of is the XIAudio Broadway S but its pricey and huge-ish. Sigh.

Oh yes, you should try Z1R with Hugo2. Verge is not really a good example here, they are not into real audio products. But always - comparsion a/b is nice idea.

Idea was to sell Hugo2 as this is now not practical to have large CUBE which can drive all my headphones for "semi-portable" way. Problem is - a/b shows me that CUBE is not that perfect and I cannot convince myself to sell good old Hugo.
SR15 goes for sale now as CUBE is not that bad in size for travel. Thought its going to be harder to use. Its not, specially in MITER case when you dont hurt yourself anymore

I will finally make a decision as too many devices is not my way. One desktop system, one portable (or semi-portable) would be good. 2x IEM, 2x headphones (closed and open). This is setup I want to limit to.

I'm in the exact same boat. The Cube has a lot of advantages but the H2 beats it for SQ. Its tough -- there's no silver bullet yet. I suppose that would be a SP2000 Cube, or H2 with more power...

I use Ropieee with Roon software playback to group compared devices. iFi power sources and iFi defnder/silencer + decent USB cables.

What hardware are you using for Ropieee?

Just a Raspberry Pi, USB output with these iFi dongles. Raspberry powered with iFi power supply 5V. Works good but I know could do better. Will think about this as next step.

Answer is simple - if you need DAP cause connecting with H2 is really annoying and you like to get music from SD card - go for CANN.
For SQ - I would go with H2 still but to be honest I think CUBE is more neutral. I just simply like sound of H2.

Simply - yes, specially in bass frequencies. CUBE is more flat and cant handle it that well. But you know - when you dont have opportunity to compare anymore - CUBE is really nice

Official support for 1TB cards and 10+ new apps will be available in next firmware update coming next week.

A&K is being very helpful and responsive working with me on this and I am sure they will be the same with you. A picture is key because the phenomenon seems to be very intermittent. Here's a picture from mine.
