Im really happy with the AK70 MK II... but...

iRiver please bring the EQUALIZER to life

I have an oldie lying next to me on my desktop. iRiver IFP-795 MP3-Player. It runs with a single AA-batterie for a very long time. This small 512 MB storage device got an EQ and its really awesome to play with. Please add this to all of your A & K players.

I'm thinking of upgrading from a 120II to the 70 MK2. Has anyone tried both devices?

Also, for home use I would like to use the 70MK2 as a transport to plug into my DAC. My DAC has a USB B port. I can output digital signal from the 70MK2 to a USB B connection, right?

Thanks!

Can your DAC accept optical input? If so you can use the 120ll as a transport at home.

Nope, only USB-B and SPDIF coax. That's one reason I want to switch from the 120II to the 70II.

Another option would be to get yourself an optical to coax adaptor, they are quite small & cheap.

Edit: At the DAC end that is, this way you keep things nice & clean at the DAP end.

I didn't even know such a thing was possible! Thanks. Now I have pretty much no reason to switch away from my 120II, though. Which is nice, because money. But I was kinda looking forward to the 70II as well, haha...

How does the AK70 MK II compare to the Pioneer XDP-300R? Can't decide if the twin DAC of this one (and other sonic qualities) is better enough to compensate for the many other features of the 300R.

I had the Pioneer XDP-100R & bought the AK70 MK II & to my ears the Pioneer XDP-100R beat the AK70MKII hands down.

The AK7 MKII was dull, lifeless & killed the music. I took mine back asap & don't regret it one bit.
