What headphones are some of you using with the SP3000?

Focal Utopia 2022 and OG.

Although to be honest, SP3000 I find powers IEM’s better. I did have minor issues with demanding IEM’s I was auditioning over the weekend - e.g. Storm, Anni, 622B sounded much improved with a portable amplifier.

I sold my first SP3000 and just bought it again. LoL. There’s something about that AK sound that i seem to be addicted to. I’ll be powering it with the Utopia OG 2020 and CA Supermoons.

I'm told by a dealer that SP3000 might have reached end of life, and AK is no longer producing them. The SP3000T will be in production.
I wonder if the next AK dap will be a flagship R-2R dap as AKM have not released any new DAC chip.

Here in Canada, a dealer in Ontario said that it is backordered 6-8 weeks. Not sure if it’s true.

One of the components used in the SP3000 has been out of stock and on backorder from our supplier, so we had to temporarily suspended production on just the SP3000. Hoping to start back up soon.

I would have thought it was still too early for end-of-life.

I’m sure the SP4000 will be in the pipeline somewhere. Replaceable battery and modular DAC would be feature requests ; as well as updated wifi and Bluetooth protocols. And an amplification stage on par with its peers. I know we’ve discussed the amplifier on the SP3000 earlier in the thread but quite simply, in my testing this weekend the Anni 2023 and 622B didn’t quite sound like it had enough power from the SP3000 compared to it’s peers.

On an A/B the Sp3000 has the nod for its micro-detail, dark background and separation, positioning etc compared to say the Hiby R8ii. But I think it’s time A&K took into account that come IEMs are now as demanding as headphones and not all of us want to stack a portable amp. Especially when commuting.

Thank you for your explaination.

Ditto, I wish they don't hot glue the back. Replacing battery will be easy if they don't use non-destructive adhesives.

currently no
I don't even see the "wheel lock" option on my SP3000. I'm showing pictures of the top menu options I'm seeing as well as the audio control settings within the main settings page. What am I missing here?

The notification panel only shows 10 of the 13 buttons available.
Go into settings and select Notification Panel (about 3/4 of the way down the list) to edit which buttons are shown on the top of your screen.
I’ve found that the wheel lock does nothing on my unit.

Is anyone else having trouble updating the sideloaded apps?
I have Tidal and Qobuz subscriptions but haven’t been able to update either of them for some time.
The first pic below show the latest updates available to install on mine device and the second pic shows what is currently installed on it. I’ve tried to install these several times and also tried resetting the device before trying again and nothing has helped so far.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

My apologies, scratch the above please.

There’s been a beta update for Qobuz and also another Tidal update in the last few days and I have been able to update to these. Still don’t know why I couldn’t with either of the previous versions.

The Tidal update STILL does not operate the LED correctly or it is not bit perfect. @JasonNYC has informed us all apps are bit perfect though. Qobuz and Apple operate it correctly. Jason…any clarification?

You the man. That worked, and the functionality works on my end after pressing the volume control knob to turn the screen off. Once the screen is off, I can no longer adjust the volume up or down when wheel lock is engaged. With the screen still on, wheel lock does nothing.
