Yes, they are. M-Audio has been rebranding UE for a few years now.

Yes, the IE-10s re-badged Super.fi 3s, the IE-20 XBs are Super.fi 5EBs, the IE-30s are Super.fi 5 Pros and the IE-40s are Triple.fi 10 Pros.

The point of rebadging is usually to establish a name for yourself in a market you want to get in to, without risking manufacturing a first product. Either that or just to make a profit. But it may mean M-Audio is planning to release their own IEM's, and want to use the rebadging of UE's products to establish a name for themselves.

The point from a customer perspective is that rebadged products are often cheaper than the "real thing". Like Altec's rebadged Etymotics tend to be a lot cheaper than the product they are based on.

The IE models have historically been pricier than their UE counterparts. M-Audio has a loyal customer base and that's where they're making the money. Also, the clear shells arguably look better than the colors UE uses.

Do you mean cheaper in terms of end sale price, or cheaper in terms of quality of materials/build?

You also re-badge (or OEM) to enter new markets or regions where your own brand may take time or money to establish itself. My understanding of the M-Audio decision was to reduce the risk for both UE and M-Audio to go after the professional market, using UE's OEM'd IEMs and M-Audio's established brand and distribution channels.

From a total cost standpoint, it's a lower risk option for both parties. UE gets broader distribution without having to enter or maintain this channel, while M-Audio gets access to good IEMs with professional-type replacement cables, without having to design and manufacture their own devices.

I meant cheaper in terms of sale price. The materials should theoretically be the same, if it is a true rebadge. But the posts above have pointed out that the sale price is not always cheaper either.

Not really. They are both royal customer of Foxter Japan, one of the world largest Audio equipments OEM that supplies parts and unbranded headphone to Sony, Audio Technica, Denon, Creative, etc... to the millions of iBud out there.

If you have enough money, they will customize headphone of your own brand as well.
