I heard that there is one made in china and one made in Ireland. supposedly the ones from china are not as good. is this true? i just ordered one and was wondering.

Yes, there were two versions. The old ones were darker and bassier. Opinions differ on which is better. Can't recall if the change was tied to the fire in Ireland.

There are two kinds made in ireland. If you bought them on ebay and they came from china, they're fake.

Actually I'm not certain on fake px100's. I know there are fake pmx100's though.

Yes, there are two different version and I had them both.
One is OK, the other (older) is much duller, bassier and overall not so balanced (if you can call a PX100 balanced, lol).

Alright, thanks for the help. I got mine from amazon so I think they are legit, but I can't be sure till I get them.

If you got it from Amazon themselves, relax. If you bought them via a reseller, unless you paid a crazy price, you're 90% + likely to have a legit pair. If you need to be sure, follow this thread when you get them: http://www.head-fi.org/forums/showthread.php?t=258562

I got them for $31 from a reseller so im pretty confident. Thanks for that link also.
