I recently purchased a FiiO e6 from Amazon and I believe it is a fake. But, I am not sure. The printing on the package looks sloppy and the chrome corner of the unit has what looks like air bubbles or rough plastic in the paint. Has anyone seen fakes of this unit? Or is this how the FiiO e6 is supposed to look like? I have a return label ready for Amazon, but I want to make sure before I send it off. The seller is "#1 Source"- http://www.amazon.com/shops/bigappledeals

I am guessing there are fake FiiO products out there especially if they ship from China  and Hong Kong in particular.  To be sure you will have to give it a listen and see if you hear any improvement over your iPod for example.  The E6 receives mixed reviews most ranging from great to very poor with nothing in between.

If you are unsatisfied with the looks of the new product do not hesitate to send it back.  I am very particular with my hard earned money and if the product was shipped as new it should look, feel, and sound that way.

if it doesn't sound good doesn't matter. to newbies and start up audiophiles with little experience and no other things, they won't be able to tell if it sounds good. they may be able to tell if something is wrong with it..but i have seen plenty of people use electronicaly hissy and staticy things to no problem and didn't realize it
