So I plan on buying either the westone 4 or the weston 4r and I was wondering if there are any differences between the two whether it be the sound or build quality. If there is anyone who has experience with both, can you please list me the pros and cons of both? Also, does the westone 4 benefit greatly from an amplifier and if so, which would be recommended?

The only difference is that the 4Rs have a removable cable.  They use the same drivers, and are tuned the same.
